We celebrated your first birthday last week and I still can't believe it. You're walking and [baby-]talking and loving life. It's just the best. Here are some highlights of your real birthday and your birthday party. A lot of friends and family love you so much. It melted my heart to see so many people love on you and care about you.
On your birthday, we went to Las Paletas (your favorite) for popsicles then went to the park. You are just big enough now to explore on your own and I love watching you chase the big kids around the playground. You climbed the stairs all by yourself and my eyes filled with proud mama tears. You are so brave and capable.
Dad took a swing at taking some photos while we sang Happy Birthday to you. You were NOT into it and you weren't too crazy about your cupcake either. But you are still the cutest.
We had a party with close family and friends (maaaaaaybe several extras too) and it was so fun; however, insanely hot and humid. You had a blast and were so good! You also didn't cry when everyone sang to you and you ate that cupcake like a champ. Again, so proud. Ammie made authentic mexican food and Nann made tasty gluten-free cupcakes. Pops made whipped cream frosting and you were in heaven! We went all out with the fiesta theme!

All in all, your first birthday festivities were a huge success. You are always worth celebrating, my darling girl.
